In the past few years, publishing ethics and, in particular, conflict of interest (COI, also known as competing interest) have come to occupy an increasingly important position in academic publishing. We strongly emphasize the importance of fully understanding the background and details concerning COI for those involved in research and in publishing medical papers. This of course is of particular importance in handling clinically related information.
In medical publishing ethics, it is essential that one be completely assured of the propriety of one's actions and this should be also manifestly obvious to all third parties. To ensure this, we would like to emphasize the importance of your knowledge concerning medical publication ethics and therefore put considerable effort into this section on medical publication in general and COI particular.
